Get your products into Google's AI shopping results (free, works in South Africa)
AI shopping answers don't only come from reading your pages. Google's come from its Shopping Graph, which is fed by Google Merchant Center. Products listed there can show in AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini and the Shopping tab, and free listings are open to shops in South Africa.
What Google needs for every product
- An id, title and description
- The product page link and an image link
- Price with currency, and stock status (availability)
- Brand for new products, and a barcode (GTIN) or part number where the product has one
- Shipping and your return policy, set up in Merchant Center
These are the same facts AI assistants read from your product pages, so one clean set of product data serves both routes.
How to start
- Create a free account at merchants.google.com and verify your website.
- Add products: Shopify and WooCommerce have Google's own apps (Google & YouTube, Google for WooCommerce). Other shops upload a product file or let Google read the product data on their pages.
- Set up shipping and returns, then fix anything Merchant Center flags.
Khanyo's whole-catalogue fix checks every product page, writes the missing product data from what's on the page, and gives you the same data as a Google product file to upload.
Other AI shopping programmes
ChatGPT, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot also take merchant product feeds, but in October 2026 they serve US shoppers: worth it only if you ship to the US. Claude has no shopping programme; it reads your pages, which the free check covers.
Check your shop free. It takes about 20 seconds and tells you exactly what’s blocked and the lines that fix it.
