Check a shop

Khanyo research · live figures, updated hourly

96% of international online shops don’t give AI assistants complete product data

Khanyo has checked 53 international online shops with a product page. 85% have no product data at all, and 96% have at least one problem that stops AI assistants like ChatGPT recommending their products.

More shoppers now start by asking ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or Google’s AI what to buy. Those assistants can only recommend what they can reach and read. We check each shop the way AI crawlers do: its robots.txt rules, its pages without JavaScript, and its product data. We don’t name or contact any shop.

What it means

The common gap is product data: no machine-readable name, price or stock, so an assistant can’t recommend the product with confidence. It is usually a small fix: a product-data template or plugin setting. Check your own shop free, no sign-up.

Method

Shops come from the Tranco ranking, the public Common Crawl index and people checking their own shops, assigned to the rest of the world by their country domain or product currency, each counted once by its latest check. Sites that didn’t load or had no product page are left out. Research checks identify themselves as Khanyo-Research and obey each site’s robots.txt (how we research). Server and firewall blocks aren’t tested, so the true share of hidden shops is likely higher. Blocking AI training crawlers is a shop’s own choice and isn’t counted as a problem.
