Other or custom-built shops and AI shopping: 51% leave out key product facts

AI shopping answers compare products by name, price, currency and stock, read from each page's product data. We checked 826 online shops on Other or custom-built.

What we found

• 51% of Other or custom-built shops have no product data or leave out the price or stock.
• For comparison, WooCommerce: 35% of 1,203 shops.
• For comparison, Shopify: 9% of 1,289 shops.
• For comparison, Wix: 1% of 314 shops.

What to do

• WooCommerce: WooCommerce writes product data itself unless a theme removed it; our plugin puts it back and adds brand, barcode, shipping and returns.
• Custom-built shops: one template in the product page template, filled from the product records, covers every product.
• Other platforms: look for a structured-data or rich-snippets setting or app that outputs schema.org Product with price, currency and availability.

826 Other or custom-built shops with a product page we could check, checked by Khanyo's research crawler up to 4 November 2026. Each shop counts once (its latest check).
