Can AI assistants read your Squarespace shop?
AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity recommend what they can read. Two things decide it: whether their crawlers may reach your shop, and whether your product pages give them the product’s name, price and stock in the standard format they read.
Product data on Squarespace
Squarespace generates its product pages and their markup itself; you can't edit the page template.
Letting AI crawlers in
Squarespace serves its own robots.txt and has a setting to block AI crawlers. If it's on, AI assistants can't read your shop. Blocking AI training crawlers is your choice and doesn’t hide you from AI answers; blocking AI search crawlers does.
